  •  ReadWriteThink, sponsored by the International Reading                 Association and the National Council of Teachers of English is an
    excellent site with resources organized by grade level, resource type, learning objective, or theme.  If you search through their interactive resources for students, each is linked to multiple lessons to introduce the concept needed before students practice skills.
    A search for resources to teach biographical writing produced an excellent student resource that supports student understanding of summarizing, main idea, and more:  Bio-Cube

  • PBS has launched the PBS Teacher site, a new education portal for teachers. It has thousands of lesson plans, professional development options, videos, blogs, and more.

Teaching EdTech Literacy

  • Teaching students to evaluate resources for credibility and to understand effective ways to harness the vast resources available on the web are critical elements of all we do in education today. Visit Jamie McKenzie's website for some great lessons, student-based projects, and insights to improve our practice in this area.
