Principal’s Message

May 23, 2016

Greetings Del Sur Explorers!

On behalf of our Heritage Night committee, I would like to thank all of our volunteers and the large number of attendees for making this year’s Heritage Night a fantastic event. Heritage Night brings so much pride to our children and their culture. We are very grateful to Del Sur’s PTA for their generous support of this year’s event. If you were unable to make it Friday evening, please put this event on your calendar for May 19, 2017. You do not want to miss it.

This Friday, May 27 students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm. This will be a half day professional growth day for the staff and me in the afternoon of this day. Also, Monday, May 30 is a holiday as our nation celebrates Memorial Day.

Thank you parents of our third, fourth, and fifth grade students for helping your child perform at their optimum level on this year’s SBAC assessments. We have now completed this year’s state testing for the most part with a few a more make ups to be completed this week.
Please join Del Sur Elementary in supporting one of our teachers, Mrs. Schroeder, and her team of 14 amazing Del Sur women, in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer walk happening on November 18th-20th. This group of women have been affected by cancer in some way or form and are walking to support research, prevention, and resources for the fight against breast cancer. They will be hosting many different fundraising events for the community to participate in, in the coming months and one of them is a community outreach with Del Sur Elementary. They have created donation jars for each of the classrooms. They are hoping to raise donations and awareness and are asking for support. Any donation is appreciated and thank you for your support!
