RANCH ROUND-UP ~ February 5, 2016

HIGHLAND HAPPENINGS

"Band Concert" by Pratibha in Mrs. Hardy’s 5th grade class

“Instruments up!” said our band teacher, Mr. Erb. Why did our instruments come up? Let me tell you. The 5th graders that play instruments had a mini concert on December 17, 2015 in the Multi-Purpose Room. The audience were Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and the other 5th graders. Pretty big audience right? Were we nervous? No! We played songs related to Christmas, Hanukkah, and some fun random songs. Such as, Jingle Bells, Candles of Hanukkah, and Flying High. We had fun. Wait! Not fun, but SO MUCH FUN!

We had an opportunity to learn an instrument by our FABULOUS instructor, Mr. Erb. So I used that opportunity, and started learning in September. There are six instruments for you to choose from, which are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and violin. I chose flute and I go on Thursdays at 11:45 to 12:20. We are so fortunate to be able to learn an instrument. This concert wouldn’t have been successful if it weren’t for Mr. Erb.
